The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky addressed the participants of the International Platform for the release of civilians illegally detained by the Russian Federation.
An International Platform for the release of civilians illegally detained by the Russian Federation was opened in Ukraine as part of the implementation of clause 4 of the Peace Formula. Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets announced this on Monday, February 26.
“Ukraine already has a similar experience – on the initiative of Canada, the International Coalition of Countries for the Return of Deported Children was created. This proposal is the first step towards the unification of efforts to free civilians illegally detained by the Russians Federation. We need to take common measures, “said Lubinets.
The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky addressed the participants of the International Platform for the release of civilians illegally detained by the Russian Federation.
“Today, no one can say exactly how many of our citizens – children and adults, soldiers and civilians – are held in Russian captivity, in Russian deportation, in the camps and prisons of a terrorist state. But the each of us can and must say definitely and definitely: we must do everything we can to return all these people to their country. The return from Putin’s Russia to Ukraine, home, is a real return from the embrace of death,” said Zelensky.
The President emphasized: the longer Ukrainians are in Russian captivity, the more difficult it will be for them to return to normal life.
“We must do everything possible and impossible to ensure that this point of our Peace Formula, the return of all prisoners and deportees, is realized,” Zelensky stressed.
The President thanked all officials and institutions – Ukrainian and international – working for the return of Ukrainians.
“It is very important not to forget about anyone and to find everything: military and civilians, deported children, Crimean political prisoners, deported families – everything needs to be found and returned. And Russia, every war criminal, everyone involved in the deportation of our people must be brought to justice, in the abuse of prisoners,” Zelensky added.
We remind you that on February 18, the Russians shot three Ukrainian prisoners near the village of Rabotino, Zaporozhye region.
And on February 24, in the Bakhmut district, the Russians shot another group of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
