The Russians, in their propaganda, have been “destroying” our Air Force for two years now, but Ukrainian pilots, in the face of strong hostile opposition, have already flown more than 18,800 sorties.
On Saturday, February 24, the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Nikolai Oleshchuk, spoke about the achievements of the Air Force during two years of full-scale war.
“Two years of the great war. 730 days of air attacks. It is not easy to record the statistics of our “routine military”, because they are updated almost every hour. Updated by Russian A-50s and Sushkas, Iranian “martyrs” and “invincible missiles”, hostile control centers, cruisers, submarines and the entire fleet headquarters… During this period, the Air Force conducted dozens of brilliant operations,” said Oleshchuk.
Within two years the following were destroyed in the skies of Ukraine:
1905 rockets of various types. Among them: 43 ballistic and 25 aeroballistic – Kh-47M2.
4844 – attack drones and 7660 operational-tactical UAVs.
340 – aircraft.
325 – helicopter.
“Every day I say “THANK YOU” to my subordinates for destroyed targets and successful combat work. After all, behind each of these numbers are PEOPLE! For 730 days , the Russians in their propaganda are “destroying” our Air Force, and meanwhile, Ukrainian pilots, in the face of strong enemy opposition, have already completed more than 8 sorties, of which 7,800 were for fire engagement, 8,900 for air fighter cover. So far with Soviet technology. However, we are waiting and actively working to ensure that F-16s finally join the battle in the near future!” – said the commander’s message.
We remind you that on February 23, the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down the second Russian A-50 aircraft. According to media reports, this was done with the help of the Soviet S-200 air defense system.
And on January 14, the first A-50 was shot down over the Sea of Azov and the Il-22M was damaged.
