Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets announced this today, February 24, in his Telegram channel.
“Criminals contact the families of prisoners of war, offering for a monetary reward to “include” their relatives in the exchange lists or to “accelerate” the process of exchanging a particular serviceman,” Lubinets noted.
According to him, attackers will even break the pages of government officials on social networks.
Unfortunately, scammers recently broke the accounts of employees of the Ombudsman’s Office. The wicked, allegedly on behalf of these workers, sent a “request” to lend a certain amount of money to citizens with whom communication took place regarding their appeals to the Secretariat of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, he noted.
Lubinets notes that the employees of the institute he heads never made any requests to the applicants, including those of a monetary nature.
I warn scammers against this kind of action! Punishment is provided for this in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine! – he emphasized. “I also appeal to the relatives of prisoners of war: be careful and remember that attackers can come up with new ways to profit from human misfortune.
