The meeting with Polish officials at the border did not take place.

    .

Prime Minister Denis Shmigal announced this on February 23. A Ukrainian delegation arrived there and took a photo near the Krakovets checkpoint.

Szmigal wrote on his social networks that “the President of Ukraine offered the leadership of Poland a platform to agree and find a compromise here on the border, as equal partners and allies.”

In addition, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers recalled that in the last 5 months Ukraine has not been selling its grain to the Polish market – “Ukraine has not been selling its corn, sunflower seeds and rapeseed to the Polish market.”

On September 16, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to license the export of some agricultural products. That is, without permission from Poland it is now impossible to export grain, corn, rapeseed and sunflower to the Polish market. Now there are no such permits – and, accordingly, there is no export either.

Shmigal also added that Ukrainian grain travels through Poland only in transit; today only 5% of our agricultural exports pass through the Polish border. While the main route is the “grain corridor” through the Black Sea.

Meanwhile, the blockade is affecting all Polish-Ukrainian trade and the economies of both countries. Not only Ukraine loses from it, Polish entrepreneurs, who export $12 billion worth of goods to our market annually, lose from it.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the governments of the two countries will meet in Warsaw on March 28. This was his statement after Vladimir Zelensky’s proposal to meet “at the border.”

The Polish head of government promised to declare all checkpoints on the border with Ukraine as critical infrastructure facilities.

The office of Polish President Andrzej Duda stated that they would agree to a meeting with the Ukrainian president.

Protests and blocking of Ukrainian checkpoints continued on February 23. In the morning, the Poles again scattered Ukrainian grain at the border. It was rapeseed, which was transported through Poland in transit to Hamburg.
