Ukrainians should be “faster”. In other words, “some things haven’t changed,” the president said.
Valery Zaluzhny was removed from the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to the need for a “reboot.” Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said this in an interview with the American Fox News channel, published the previous day.
“We really need this reboot of the control of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. And we are not talking about any reboot of the direction of our actions. We are just saying that there are things that have not changed recently,” said the head of state.
In his opinion, Ukrainians should be “faster.”
“This means abandoning all the bureaucracy we have. Otherwise, we will not have any chance. To be smarter, more technologically advanced and, of course, faster,” said Zelensky.
At the same time, he explained that Zaluzhny was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine by the fact that he “defended the country.”
“He defended our people, our country. That’s why I awarded him the title of Hero of Ukraine. I am very grateful to him,” concluded the president.
Let’s recall that on February 8, Zelensky announced a meeting with Zaluzhny. According to him, the changes in the Armed Forces were discussed.
On the same day, it became known that Zaluzhny was fired, and Alexander Syrsky was appointed to the post of commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Subsequently, the command to the General Staff was changed, and there were also changes in other key positions in the Ukrainian army.
