Moldova Libera writes about this.
The leader of the PMR, Vadim Krasnoselsky, convenes a congress of deputies of all levels (district, city, town and village councils) in Tiraspol, allegedly due to economic pressure from Moldova.
Such congresses are rare for the PMR – in 1990-1991 there were four such measures at which “independence” was declared. In 1995, a “constitution” was approved, and in 2006, at the last congress today, a referendum was announced, as a result of which the Pridnestrovians supported the future entry of the PMR into Russia.
Transnistrian oppositionist Gennady Chorba suggests that at the congress they will voice a request “on behalf of the citizens” to accept Transnistria into Russia, and the very next day, February 29, Putin will allegedly announce this “request” in his address to the Federal Assembly, which will then expeditiously will vote “yes”.
The Bureau of Reintegration of Moldova said it was closely monitoring the situation. Chisinau sees no reason that the situation in the region could worsen and is convinced that Tiraspol “is aware of the consequences.”
