The diplomat also invited EU members to tell us what they are doing at the bilateral level regarding the issue of arms supplies.
EU countries should be forced to transfer ammunition to Ukraine, because their lack creates difficulties for the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the front. This was stated in a letter from the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, to the foreign and defense ministers of the bloc countries, Politico reports on Thursday, February 22.
The diplomat called on EU countries to support Ukraine in any possible way, including finding shells in their warehouses, independent and joint purchases from European industry, buying ammunition that is already available on the market or financing in Ukrainian industry.
“I believe that together we can change the situation – for Ukraine and the security of Europe – but it requires immediate action. Time is of the essence,” Borrell stressed.
He also called on the EU countries to reveal what they are doing bilaterally to provide weapons to the defenders of Ukraine.
As you know, on the night of February 17 it became known that the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces left Avdiivka. This happened after several months of continuous attacks by the Russian army.
