Ukraine, without American military assistance, will face a difficult choice—Kyiv will be forced to choose which populated areas to defend based on available resources.

Without a Senate decision, Ukraine will not receive critical benefit packages worth more than $60 billion. The withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Avdiivka was strategic. The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces took this step in order to save its artillery and ammunition. Deputy Pentagon representative Sabrina Singh announced this on February 21 during a briefing, according to the US State Department website.
Look, if we don’t get more – if we don’t get the necessary funding from the Senate – we won’t be able to deliver these critical packages, and Ukraine will have to make choices and decisions about which cities, which towns they can support with what they are available and which partners can continue to supply them,” she noted.
At the same time, a representative of the US Department of Defense refused to name settlements that may be under threat after the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Defense Forces from Avdiivka.
Let us recall that on February 17, President Vladimir Zelensky, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, said that the Ukrainian authorities do not perceive the situation in the US Congress with the decision to further support Ukraine as “betrayal.” The head of state emphasized that Kyiv is not considering an alternative to assistance from the United States of America.
