Polish trucks will be allowed to enter Ukrainian territory with the same delay that Poles allow Ukrainians.
Ukrainian carriers started a protest near three international checkpoints on the Polish border. Suspilne reported this on Tuesday, February 20.
“Ukraine carriers started a peaceful protest near the Rava-Russkaya-Grebennoe, Krakovets-Korcheva and Shegini-Medica emergency areas. This was in response to the blocking of checkpoints by Polish protesters,” said of the message.
The protest started at 12:00. Drivers put posters on trucks with inscriptions in Ukrainian and English: “Remove the blockade – bring Ukrainian drivers home”, “Stop the blockade at the borders”, “If Ukraine loses, Poland”, “The blockade of Ukraine is a betrayal of European values”, etc. d.
According to the head of the NGO Ukrainian Transport Union in the Lviv region of Oleg Dubik, Polish trucks will be allowed to enter the territory of Ukraine with the same delay with which Poles allow Ukrainians.
As the head of the NGO mentioned International road carriers of Ukraine Vladimir Mikhalevich, the peaceful protest near the three international checkpoints will last from February 20 to March 15 or until the borders are unblocked by Polish protesters.
“We will block Polish cars to draw their attention to the fact that everything is standing or everything is moving. There cannot be a situation where Ukrainian cars are standing and Polish cars are driving. We understand the situation in what they want. But all the demands “The Poles have either in the European Union or in their government, there are no complaints, there are no demands in Ukraine, so it’s a very strange situation. The people are very strong, they will stand around the clock,” Mikhalevich emphasized.
We remind you that on February 20, Polish farmers are conducting a general strike. They blocked about 200 places across Poland: roads, main communication centers and checkpoints on the border with Ukraine.
The main demands of the protesters are a ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products and a rejection of the EU’s Green Deal.
