The Netherlands is working with Denmark and other countries to ensure that Ukraine receives as many modern fighters as possible.
There is some progress in the process of transferring F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, said this, Radio Liberty reported on Saturday, February 17.
“We hope to deliver them as soon as possible… There is progress on these matters. We are, in principle, on schedule. So this is good news,” Rutte said.
Regarding the number of aircraft that Ukraine can count on, the head of the Dutch government said that there will definitely be more than 20.
“There will be 24 fighters, maybe more, but not less… We are working together with the Danes and others,” the prime minister recalled.
We remind you that the Netherlands has promised 42 F-16 fighters for Ukraine. At the beginning of February, the government of the Netherlands decided to prepare additional aircraft for the transfer to our state.
Today Rutte and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky discussed defense support for Ukraine.
