In the Republic of Moldova, for the second time in six days, the destruction of a drone similar to the Geranium-2 type was discovered.
For the second time, a week later, Moldovan border police discovered the remains of a Russian drone near the Ukrainian border. This was stated in a statement by the Moldovan border police on Saturday, February 17.
Law enforcement officials clarified that the fragments were found in a field at approximately 16.40, approximately five kilometers before the village of Etulia Noua.
“So far, the authorities have taken all necessary measures to maintain order, calm and public safety. There is no danger to society,” the statement said.
We remind you that on February 11, fragments of a Russian suicide bomber were found in the Moldovan village of Etulia Noua. Police speculated that the drone may have been shot down by Ukrainian air defense during a Russian attack on the Izmail district of the Odessa region on the night of February 10.
Romania has installed an anti-drone system on the border with Ukraine.
