Since the beginning of Russia’s all-out invasion of Ukraine, the United States has transferred more than $287 million in aid to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The United States has given Ukraine a new package of technical assistance to investigative units. It includes 66 cars, 250 drones, 9 3D terrestrial laser scanning systems with software and DNA laboratories. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on Friday, February 16.
The ceremony of giving the aid package was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko and the US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the use of the transferred equipment will make it possible to accurately and quickly record all crimes in Russia.
“For example, laboratories for rapid installation of a human DNA profile ANDE 6C allow you to establish a DNA profile within an hour and a half,” he pointed out.
Igor Klimenko emphasized that police officers underwent appropriate training to prepare forensic specialists to work with such laboratories to install a DNA profile.
“There are already successful cases of identifying people killed as a result of Russian missile attacks on our cities,” Klimenko said.
It is indicated that the transferred technical assistance will be sent mainly to front-line regions that are under enemy fire every day.
It was previously reported that the identity of the occupiers who abused civilians in the Kyiv region had been determined.
We remind you that Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin said that at least 3,800 civilians are officially known to have been tortured at the hands of the Russian occupiers.
