Lawmakers, after discussions on a bill on financial assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, decided to go on break until February 28. The draft document will now be reviewed at the end of the month. This was reported by Voice of America and The Hill.
American President Joe Biden reacted to the decision of lawmakers to go on vacation. On social network X, he promised that “the failure to support Ukraine at this critical moment will never be forgotten.”
Let us remind you that on February 13, the US Senate supported the final adoption of an aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. Next, this project was to be considered by the House of Representatives.
However, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson said that he would not now introduce a bill to extend the provision of monetary assistance to Ukraine.
The aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan provides for the allocation of $96 billion. from the American budget. It is planned to transfer 60 billion dollars to Ukraine. The remaining funds will be used to assist Israel and regional partners in the Indian-Pacific region.
