The President said he signed several orders on new replacements in the Ukrainian Defense Forces to provide more modern techniques.
President Vladimir Zelensky on Thursday, February 15, heard a report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, and the Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, on the situation at the front, particularly in Avdiivka. Zelensky said this in an evening video message.
“Report of Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky and Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov. The situation at the front – Avdiivka, east as a whole. We are doing the maximum so that our soldiers have enough managerial and technological skills to save more more Ukrainian life,” said the president.
Zelensky also noted that today he signed several orders on new replacements in the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
“More experience in fighting this war, more modern techniques,” Zelensky added.
Let’s remember that according to American analysts, on February 14, Russian forces controlled at least 15.4% of the city. The battle continues south and northwest of Avdeevka, in the area of the Tsarskaya Okhota restaurant and Opytnoye villages. The hottest situation, according to ISW, was observed at the Avdeevka coke plant, as well as in the north-west and south of the city itself. There is unofficial data that the Russian command committed almost 50 thousand soldiers to the direction of Avdeevsky. Tavria OSUV added that Defense Forces units are retreating here and there in Avdeevka to more advantageous positions, as “backup options for developing events were provided in advance.” It was also reported that the defense of Avdeevka was reinforced by the 3rd separate assault brigade. Its fighters are said to have inflicted “critical losses” on two Russian brigades. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces activated a reserve logistics artery in Avdiivka.
