The sectors most affected are trade, industry, agriculture, energy and transportation.
Ukraine’s total losses during the entire Russian invasion were approximately $499 billion. Prime Minister Denis Shmigal said this, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported on Thursday, February 15.
“By the end of 2023, Ukraine’s total losses, social and other losses will reach almost $499 billion. Trade, industry, agriculture, energy and transport sectors have suffered the most,” he said.
The head of the government recalled that the current financial need for the restoration of Ukraine is about $486 billion. Of this amount, $15 billion should be spent on “quick recovery.”
According to him, in 2023, the need for reconstruction continues to grow, the growth is especially noticeable in the housing sector, “where 10% of the total housing stock has been destroyed or damaged due to enemy actions .”
“We also have negative dynamics in the agricultural sector and the environment because of the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric station and because of the mining of our lands,” added the prime minister.
We remind you that because of the war in Ukraine, environmental damage has reached 2.2 trillion Hryvnia. At the same time, the main part of it consists of releases of harmful substances into the environment.
