A group of allies intends to join forces and transfer one million drones to Ukraine, the Alliance Secretary General said.
NATO countries plan to transfer one million drones to Ukraine as part of military aid. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this in a briefing in Brussels on Thursday, February 15.
“A group of allies will come together and transfer a million drones to Ukraine, 20 NATO allies have also agreed to create a coalition for mine clearance. All this will help save the lives of Ukrainians,” he said.
He recalled that a regular meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council took place today. In particular, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov informed the allies about the situation at the front, and the Alliance countries noted the importance of additional support.
Stoltenberg also said that in recent days, the allies, including Canada, Finland, Norway and other countries, have announced new military aid packages to Ukraine, which include equipment for the F- 16, as well as air defense systems.
In addition, the UK today confirmed its commitment to provide thousands of drones to Ukraine at a cost of £200 million as part of a drone coalition.
As you know, in December, Ukraine and Latvia created a coalition of drones and electronic warfare. Later, it was joined by Britain, Sweden and the Netherlands.
