The NGO “Carriers of the Western Region” set off from near Lutsk to the Yagodin checkpoint, where their protest action is scheduled to begin at 10:00.
There will be no complete blocking of the border. Protesters will stop and check only those Polish truck drivers who bypass the general queue at the checkpoint.
In general, about fifty Ukrainian carriers should take part in the peaceful protest, writes Channel 12.
This is a response to the blockade on the Polish side of the border, reports a Radio Liberty correspondent.
The main slogan of the peaceful protest is “Free movement – a victory for both sides.” However, carriers promise to create difficulties for Polish drivers who will enter Ukraine.
We also suffer and they suffer. But what does this have to do with carriers? We get the job done. Now the war is going on, and we are transporting cargo for the military, but they don’t give us this now. We are squeezed from one side and the other – on one side Russia, and on the other – the borders are closed. We want to hold a peaceful action, without turning around, we want to show that we can also close the border for their carriers,” carrier Valery told Radio Liberty.
