Comprehensive measures are now underway to bring Taisiya Povaliy to justice for the crimes committed, the security service said.
Singer Taisiya Povaliy has come under suspicion because of calls to seize the whole of Ukraine. The SBU reported this on Thursday, February 15.
“The security service collected evidence on the singer and former people’s representative Taisiya Povaliy, which justifies the aggressive war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine,” the statement said.
The intelligence service recalled that on the eve of the full invasion of the Russian Federation, Povaliy left for Russia. He received Russian citizenship and publicly supported the Kremlin.
“During an interview with a Moscow online publication, the collaborator praised Putin and called for the seizure of the entire territory of Ukraine. He also tried to discredit the defenders of Ukraine who participated in the battles for Kyiv, ” said the report.
In addition, in September 2023, Povaliy, at the invitation of terrorist Leonid Pasechnik, performed at a concert in temporarily occupied Lugansk. Then he spoke from the stage in support of the Russian invaders and glorified their participation in the war against Ukraine.
The analysis confirmed the facts of Taisiya Povaliy’s subversive activities in favor of Russia.
Based on the collected evidence, the SBU informed the singer of the absence of suspicion under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
-
cooperative activities (part 6 of article 111-1);
-
public call for aggressive war (Article 436);
-
justification, recognition of the legitimate armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (Part 1 of Article 436-2).
Since Taisiya Povaliy is on Russian territory, comprehensive measures are now underway to bring him to justice for the crimes he committed.
Earlier, the SBU collected evidence of high treason on the part of former people’s deputy Sergei Polishchuk. For FSB money, he denied the existence of Ukraine on the talk show of Russian propagandist Olga Skabeeva.
