In the all-Russian rating of the most popular television programs for the week, Putin’s interview with Carlson was only in 19th place, despite a large-scale information campaign.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s widely publicized interview with controversial American journalist Tucker Carlson did not interest Russian television viewers. This is confirmed by data from Mediascope, which monitors Russian media.
So, the two-hour interview, which, as the Kremlin claims, was watched with interest by the whole world, took only 19th place in the all-Russian rating of the most popular television programs for the week from February 4 to 11.
With a rating of 2.9% in the 4+ audience, Putin “lost” in TV series and entertainment shows, with ratings ranging from 3.1% to 5.6%. According to the rating, which records the average number of viewers as a percentage of the population, the interview with the president of Russia was slightly higher than the mystical show “Psychics. Revenge” (2.8%) and the quiz show on television “Field of Miracles” (2.7%).
Moreover, Putin failed to “reach” the main propaganda programs: for example, the rating of Dmitry Kiselev’s “News of the Week” was 5.7% (2nd place), and the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” – 4.5 % (8th place), “Time” programs – 3.3% (13th place).
The all-Russian interview rating turned out to be lower than in Moscow: in the capital, Putin and Carlson took 11th place among the top most popular programs with a result of 3.2%.
Let’s recall that last week Putin gave a long interview to Carlson, in which, in response to a question from an American blogger about the reasons for the war against Ukraine, he endlessly spread pseudo-historical topics that there is a lot of manipulation of facts and just lies. At one point, the dictator agreed to justify Hitler’s attack on Poland (in Russia, as in Ukraine, justifying Nazism is a criminal offense).
