Today, Russian superior forces are trying to cut off the supply line to Avdeevka in order to capture the city before the Russian presidential election.
The Ukrainian military managed to turn units around the city of Avdeevka, Donetsk region, where heavy fighting is taking place. This was announced by the head of the public relations service of the 110th separate mechanized brigade, Ivan Sekach, on Tuesday, February 13.
According to him, the 110th Mechanized Infantry Brigade today does not have enough capabilities to hold Avdievka, but reinforcements are coming.
“For the first time in almost two years of the defense of Avdiivka by the 110th separate mechanized brigade, some of our units completely withdrew from the battles for rest and rotation. In fact, reinforcements arrived . I won’t say what kind of unit it was… But this is powerful support. We became a little calmer when she came,” said Sekach.
According to him, the superior Russian forces are trying to cut off the supply line to Avdeevka in order to capture the city before the Russian presidential election.
“They have an absolute advantage in aviation, that is, we cannot influence in any way the air raids, the bombing of the city and our positions. They have a large number of personnel, which they do not take into account, and they are constantly experimenting with different groups, using armored vehicles. They have a task, and they are trying to accomplish it in any way,” Sekach added.
As you know, since October 2023, the Russians have been actively storming Avdeevka. During this time, the enemy lost thousands of military personnel killed and wounded and hundreds of armored vehicles.
Last week, OSGV Tavria admitted that the fighting in Avdeevka was now taking place within urban areas. At the same time, it is argued that in Avdeevka it is still far from “all is lost.”
