The aggressor country launched a disinformation campaign against Syrsky and wanted to impose on him the image of a Russian.
The Russians are trying to impose on the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, the image of a “Soviet and Russian” man. The Center for Countering Disinformation reported this on Sunday, February 11.
“To do this, propagandists are actively looking for his relatives in Russia, “family friends,” from whom they take comments and distribute them in the information space with the appropriate context,” said of the message.
The purpose of the campaign is to try to discredit the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and reduce trust in him.
At the same time, the Center calls for remembering:
-
Syrsky has long been part of former commander-in-chief Valery Zaluzhny’s team;
-
He commanded a successful operation, including the liberation of Kyiv and Kharkov regions. These would be impossible without quality personnel, but much depends on command. Thus, Syrsky showed that he knows how to achieve results in the war against Russia.
-
Syrsky’s team consisted of young commanders who had been promoted. This is a requirement for systematic improvements in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
-
Supporting the campaign that the commander-in-chief is a “Russian man” plays along with the enemy’s disinformation.
Let’s recall that on February 8, President Vladimir Zelensky removed Valery Zaluzhny from the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and appointed Alexander Syrsky, who previously headed the Ground Forces, in his place.
Meanwhile, Zaluzhny’s name began to be used for fake websites. The resources are hosted on different domains and created by unknown people.
