Moldova believes that the main problem is the presence of Russian troops in the region.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu does not exclude that in the next few years a “geopolitical opportunity” will appear that will resolve the conflict in the Transnistrian region.
“For us, the main goal remains to maintain peace and stability in the country. We are trying to resolve the issue step by step, without much noise,” Sandu was quoted as saying by Point.
He also believes that in the Transnistrian region “They want peace, like here.”
“We have already seen how, at the beginning of the war, young people from the left bank moved to the right, fearing that they would be sent to fight against Ukraine (as part of the Russian Armed Forces)… We will show ( positive) impact of European integration – and I can’t imagine how they will reject European integration,” said the president.
According to him, the main problem is the presence of Russian troops in the region.
“We see how “servants of the Kremlin” here from morning to night express concern about the neutrality of Moldova. But the neutrality status of Moldova is violated exclusively by the Russian Federation. No other country violates neutrality, Sandu emphasized.
Let’s remember that Kremlin officials and propagandists are setting information conditions to destabilize Moldova in order to prevent Moldova’s integration with the EU and the West.
