In the Transcarpathian and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, more than 3,000 subscribers were left without gas due to an accident and natural disaster. The Ministry of Energy announced this on Saturday, February 10.
Thus, in Transcarpathia, an underground gas distribution pipeline was washed away by a flood and damaged. Therefore, in two communities, gas supply to 1,058 households, one school, one kindergarten and two bakeries was stopped.
“Gas workers closed the valve on the underwater gas pipeline and localized the gas leak,” the statement said.
At the same time, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration, Viktor Nikita, reported that four villages were left without gas – Vyshovaty, Dobryanske, Olkhovtsy and partially Neresnitsa. It happened because of a tree that fell on a high-pressure gas pipe F-219 in the village of Ternovo, Tyachevsky district.
In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, workers of a construction company damaged a steel gas pipeline during unauthorized excavation to install a sewage system.
“To eliminate the emergency situation in the gas pipeline, the supply of gas to 2,167 consumers has been stopped,” added the Ministry of Energy.
Earlier, in Poltava region, 12 villages were left without gas supply due to bad weather and an accident at a gas distribution station.
