Valery Zaluzhny and former Minister of Veterans Affairs Yulia Laputina were removed from the National Security and Defense Council.
President Vladimir Zelensky introduced the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the National Security and Defense Council Alexander Syrsky to the Headquarters and dismissed Valery Zaluzhny. The corresponding orders appeared on the website of the Office of the President on Friday, February 9.
Syrsky was also included in the National Security and Defense Council and removed from there Valery Zaluzhny and former Minister of Veterans Affairs Yulia Laputina.
Documents on the dismissal of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei Shaptala and the appointment of Anatoly Bargilevich in his place were also made public.
Let’s recall that on February 8, by his decree, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky appointed Colonel General Alexander Syrsky as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine instead of Valery Zaluzhny.
On February 9, Zelensky appointed Anatoly Bargilevich as the new chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Before him, this post was held by Sergei Shaptala.
