The daughter of a resident of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, Yuri Galkin, wrote that her father was crossing the road and was hit and killed by a car.
Yuri Galkin, a defender from Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, who recently returned from captivity, died in a car accident. The local publication Pokrovsk.news reported this today, February 9, with reference to a post by the daughter of the deceased Valeria Galkina.
Yuri Galkin reportedly returned to Ukraine as part of a prisoner of war exchange on January 31.
“Today my father died. He was not killed by war, not by a bullet, or by two years of captivity. He just crossed the road and was hit by a car. I do not believe that this is true. I am sorry for everyone. I am waiting for the your call, as I promised you, but I can’t wait…” – wrote yesterday, February 8, the daughter of the deceased man.
We remind you that on January 31, Ukraine returned 207 military personnel from captivity. Among the liberated Ukrainians there were many defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal, as well as defenders of Zmeiny Island.
Another 100 Ukrainian soldiers returned from captivity in Russia yesterday, February 8.
