Putin’s interview: wants negotiations and named conditions

The Russian dictator, in a conversation with Carlson, asked for new negotiations from Ukraine and named the conditions.

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson made the announcement in his interview with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. The two-hour conversation was the first meeting between the Russian President and representatives of the Western media since the invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022. More on the story he said.

History rewritten

Putin spent the first 30 minutes of the interview telling a fictional story of Russia, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine. His monologue took the audience from the reign of Yaroslav the Wise and up to criticism of Lenin’s foreign policy.

In addition, he again recalled the statement that “Ukraine did not exist before the Bolsheviks” and “the Bolsheviks transferred the lands of historical Russia to Ukraine.” Putin “connects” the entire Left Bank region and even Kyiv in the end.

When a confused Carlson finally “dragged” the Russian president into the 21st century, Putin traditionally accused the United States and other Western countries of prolonging the war in Ukraine.

There are peace talks in Ukraine that are “almost completed,” Putin said, but then “Ukraine rejected all these agreements and followed the orders of Western countries, Europeans and the United States to fight Russia to the end .”

He again blamed, in particular, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. It was he who allegedly refused Zelensky to sign a peace treaty in the early stages of the war.

“The fact that they (the Ukrainian authorities – ed.) submit to the demands or beliefs of Mr. Johnson, the former Prime Minister of Great Britain, seems ridiculous,” Putin said.

The question of the end of the war

Let’s remember that in December the Kremlin said that conducting peace negotiations in Ukraine was “unrealistic.” However, in a conversation with Carlson, Putin said he was in favor of negotiations with Kiev. Moreover, according to him, the parties “will reach an agreement sooner or later.” He called on Bankova to lift her ban on negotiations with the Kremlin. He answered the same call in the United States.

“If you really want to stop the war, you have to stop the supply of weapons. It will be over in a few weeks,” he told Washington.

Putin also said he last spoke to Joe Biden before Russia invaded Ukraine.

“Then I told him, I believe you are making a huge mistake of historic proportions by supporting everything that is happening there in Ukraine, pushing Russia away,” he said.

As another condition for the end of the war, the Russian dictator mentioned “denazification” several times in the interview, which he sees as “banning all kinds of neo-Nazi movements” in Ukraine and the “deprivation of people promotes the theory of Nazism.”

Attack on NATO

During the conversation, Putin separately touched on the possible threat of an attack on NATO countries. He still made the argument that such an attack would inevitably lead to nuclear war, which would “bring all mankind to the brink of destruction.” Therefore, it seems pointless for the Kremlin to get involved.

He assured that Russia has no territorial claims against NATO countries, and that statements about the war “are necessary to fan anti-Russian sentiments in the West.”

He also added that the Russian Federation could start a war with Poland if Poland attacked Russia.

“Father or grandfather?”

During the interview, Putin traditionally mentioned the topic of fascism and ended up in a funny situation.

“I asked Zelensky, “why are you a fascist? “Your father fought the Nazis.” I will not say what he answered me,” the Russian President said.

Social networks violently responded to such words with questions: “Who fought, father or grandfather?”
