One of the evaders got under the seat of the car, covering it with a rug. For such a “comfortable trip” he paid $9,000.
In the Chernivtsi region, border guards detained two groups of duty violators who attempted to cross the border illegally. The press service of the State Border Guard Service reported this today, February 6.
Operational officers of the Chernivtsi border detachment came to the attention of a local resident who, according to preliminary information, was preparing the illegal migration of men to Romania.
“During the verification of this information last night at one of the control posts, law enforcement officers stopped him driving his own vehicle. During the inspection of the vehicle in which he was heading to the border, the officers discovered servicemen of the State Border Guard Service a man hiding under the rear passenger seat. It came out under the seat, covering himself “A 26-year-old resident of the Chernivtsi region was traveling. The man did not immediately admit where he was going, but later still reported that he paid 9 thousand US dollars for such a trip to a neighboring country with “convenience,” the report said.
Subsequently, border guards received additional information about preparations for the illegal movement of citizens across the state border.
“Last night, the violators tried to implement their plans using a car. However, the border guards exposed their intentions and found them near the border. Realizing that they were being pursued, the violators tried to escape, but the car of the border guards turned around. After several minutes of pursuit, the violators were stopped and detained literally several kilometers from the state border,” the press service of the State Border Guard Service reports.
It was noted that the driver, a resident of the Chernivtsi region, was driving two men across the state border line in his own car, and in further movement the violators received instructions from the main organizer of the scheme. For this, residents of Lviv region and Khmelnitsky region pay 3 thousand euros each.
Border guards reported that the identity of the main organizer has been established and the search is ongoing.
We remind you that the State Border Guard Service blocked another channel for the illegal travel of men abroad. The four organizers of the criminal scheme were found guilty and faced imprisonment from 7 to 9 years.
It was previously reported that last year there were more than 3,000 attempts to escape from Ukraine using forged documents.
