British intelligence records that Wagnerites continue to train Belarusian military personnel.

There are less than a thousand Russian mercenaries of the Wagner PMC left on the territory of Belarus. About that reports UK Ministry of Defence.

It is noted that “Wagnerites” have been in Belarus since June 2023, at that time there were 8,000 mercenaries there. The Wagner Group almost certainly continues to train the Belarusian military and security forces.

British intelligence believes that Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko is unlikely to use the Wagner Group’s mercenaries beyond their current capabilities. They participate in the training of military personnel of the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs, but are unlikely to be directly involved in supporting internal or border security in Belarus.

As British intelligence officials note, the continued presence of Wagner Group mercenaries in Belarus benefits Russia’s military efforts by forcing Ukraine to maintain defensive positions and personnel along its northern border. of Belarus to protect against potential future invasions.

In the past, British intelligence reported that the Kremlin had tightened control over the Wagner PMC.

We remind you that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have confirmed the return of the Wagnerites to the eastern front. In total there were about 500 people.
