Kosar Eftekhari, who had a difficult time leaving Iran after participating in the protests, spoke to BILD about the terrible practice.
When she was once again at a demonstration, an Iranian security officer shot, Kosar fell, after which the man pointed the gun at her face.
He smiled and then shot me in the eye. I clearly heard my eye burst. It was a huge pain. There was blood everywhere,” she says.
At least 5 thousand protesters were “branded” with shots in the eyes.
Many private doctors prohibited treating patients with eye injuries. The victims hid or went to government clinics, where after treatment they could be arrested.
I left everyone behind. My parents, my four younger brothers and sisters,” Kosar says of fleeing the country.
The girl’s mother says on the phone that she is proud of her, but repeats:
We’ll probably never see each other again.
