The battalion, consisting of several hundred convicts with combat experience, was named “gladiators” in honor of the former general of the 58th Army with the call sign Spartak.
In the Russian Federation, a new special attack unit, “Storm Gladiator,” was formed from prisoners taken for the war against Ukraine. This was reported by the Center for National Resistance.
It was noted that this was a privileged semi-secret battalion, consisting of several hundred convicts with combat experience, and named “gladiators” in honor of the former general of the 58th Army with the call sign Spartak.
The battalion is led by a former police officer convicted of brutal murder. This unit selects people with a high level of physical fitness, experience serving in law enforcement agencies, as well as combat veterans.
In addition, in the training area, the “gladiators” were trained, in particular, by former “Wagnerites” and Kadyrovites from the “Akhmat” unit, which made up the Russian Guard.
We remind you that Vadim Skibitsky, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said that all Russian PMC Wagner groups have been reformed. A part of them is under the RF Armed Forces, the other has joined similar private companies.
Earlier, ISW revealed the “secret” work of the Wagner PMC in Belarus. It was noted that “Wagnerites” cooperate with the personnel of the 51st artillery brigade and the cadets of the Belarusian Military Academy.
