The US House of Representatives will vote next week on a $17.6 billion aid bill for Israel.
The administration of American President Joe Biden does not agree to vote for a bill to help Israel without allocating funds for Ukraine. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said this on Saturday, February 3.
He recalled that the Biden administration had been working with senators for months on a national security agreement that would secure the US’s southern border and provide support for Ukraine and Israel.
“It is when the legislative draft is almost ready that Republicans in the House of Representatives resort to political maneuvering,” said a White House spokesman.
He stressed that the White House considers the decision to vote without Ukraine as a “cynical political maneuver” by Republicans.
“We strongly oppose this decision, which does not secure the border, does nothing to help the people of Ukraine defend themselves from Putin’s aggression, and denies humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians.. .” said Jean-Pierre.
We remind you that on February 1, the US Senate announced a vote for aid to Ukraine. Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said this. This poll is scheduled to take place before February 7.
As you know, on December 27, the United States announced the provision of the latest military aid package to Ukraine in the amount of $250 million. And the bill, which includes $61 billion for Ukraine, is still blocked in the US Congress.
