As CBS News journalists found out, the exact timing of US strikes on Iranian targets and military personnel will depend on the weather to prevent inadvertently hitting civilians who may be in the area at the last moment.

These strikes, according to US officials, will be carried out over several days and will be more quickly dependent on weather conditions.

The strikes will be in response to the death of American troops at a military base in Jordan near the Syrian border.

The United States blamed Iran for the deaths of its soldiers, and US President Joe Biden promised that America would respond when and to the extent it deems appropriate.
