The people’s representative is suspected of falsely declaring cryptocurrency worth about 25 million hryvnias. This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday, January 31.
In 2020, an unnamed deputy declared cryptocurrency worth 24.6 million hryvnias, which apparently belonged to him since 2019. However, as part of the pre-trial investigation, which was launched based on materials from the NACP, it was established that the cryptocurrency wallet the deputy mentioned in his declaration never actually belonged to him.
All transactions for the acquisition of virtual currency are carried out by citizens of other states who are in no way connected to the representative.
The actions of the representatives of the people are qualified on the grounds of a crime provided for in the article: Intentionally entering the subject of the declaration of intentionally false information in the declaration of a person authorized to perform the duties of the state or local government.
The investigation was conducted in cooperation with the competent authorities of the United States within the framework of international legal assistance.
