In their appeal, they emphasized the need to “immediately” transfer ammunition and weapons systems to Kyiv, in particular howitzers, tanks, UAVs and air defense systems.
If Ukraine loses, the long-term consequences and costs will be much greater for all of us. We Europeans have a special responsibility. Therefore we must act. The future of Europe depends on this, they urged.
Meanwhile, eight EU countries are ready to allocate more money to supply 1 million shells to Ukraine. This was stated by Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur.
According to him, Estonia and at least seven other countries, including Poland and the Scandinavian countries, are ready to allocate more money to achieve the goal of 1 million shells for Ukraine by March 2024. Pevkur said only a third of the million shells had been delivered to Ukraine, with another 30% due to arrive before March.
Let us remind you that on February 1 an extraordinary EU summit opens in Brussels, at which the issue of allocating a four-year EU aid package to Ukraine worth 50 billion euros will be considered.
