Former Supreme Court Chairman Vsevolod Knyazev on Tuesday, January 30, extended his preventive measure for another two months and his bail was reduced again. This decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court was reported by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
It is known that the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court supported the position of the SAPO prosecutor and continued the preventive measure in the form of detention for the former chairman of the Supreme Court.
At the same time, the court reduced the suspect’s bail from UAH 20 million. up to 18.168 million UAH.
The preventive measure is in effect until March 29, 2024.
If a certain amount of bail is posted, the suspect will be subject to certain procedural obligations.
Let’s recall that on May 15, 2023, NABU detectives detained Knyazev for a bribe in the amount of $2.7 million. Law enforcement took part of the money from his home, and part from his office. The money was given to the judges allegedly for a decision in favor of businessman Konstantin Zhevago. On May 18, Knyazev was arrested.
