In Ukraine, the process of creating a system for selecting leadership positions in the National Police has begun, and the United States is helping Ukraine in this regard. Interior Minister Igor Klimenko announced this today, January 30.
“Today I had a founding meeting with Joshua Temblador, head of the Embassy’s Department of Law Enforcement Affairs and Travis Brooks, DEA attaché at the Embassy. The main emphasis is a clear and high-quality selection of National Police leaders in all of level. The task is to modernize the criteria and requirements for holding a leadership position, and the responsible authorities who will carry out the verification of the candidate. And this verification must be comprehensive. Consider all areas of a person’s life, his background and reputation risks,” the message said.
The ministry is aware that this is a long process, but it is important to move it.
“Yes, we will not radically change the situation for a few months. But we have already launched the transformation mechanism. Next after the National Police, the State Emergency Service will introduce a system for choosing leaders,” added Klymenko.
It was previously reported that the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko filed income declarations for 2021 and 2022. The electronic declaration of property and income for 2021 indicates 1 million 605 thousand 553 UAH, for 2022 – 2 million 44 thousand 269 UAH.
