The head of Polish diplomacy said that the previous government had carried out an “anti-German campaign” that had now ended.
The new Polish government ended the “cold war” waged by the previous government with Germany and European institutions. This is what Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said before his visit to Berlin, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 30, Ukrinform reports.
It is noted that Sikorsky made such a statement to the Diet, discussing plans related to his visit to Berlin.
“We believe that democratic Germany is an ally of Poland. And we are ending the Cold War with European institutions and our largest trade partner (Germany – ed.), “said the head of Polish diplomacy, giving stress that the previous government had carried out an “anti-German campaign” .
The minister noted that there are problems between neighboring countries that need to be resolved. He indicated that it had something to do with Poland’s relations with both Germany and Ukraine.
“Strategically, we support Ukraine, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have differences of opinion,” Sikorsky said.
He emphasized that Germany is an ally of Poland, but there are problems in relations between the countries, both from the past and in the future, and all this will be discussed in the negotiations.
Earlier it was reported that Poland joined the G7 guarantees for Ukraine.
