The head of state called “incorrect” cases in which employees of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers used physical force against citizens of military age. Zelensky stated this in an interview with the German television channel ARD, the press service of the Presidential Office reports.
The journalist asked Zelensky to comment on a video from the Internet, which showed men being detained by the military right on the street. She asked what personal freedom is worth in Ukraine in a state of war.
Yes, these are the cases. This is very wrong when representatives of the military registration and enlistment offices walked the streets and looked for guys who did not come to the TCC. But here I would like us to be fair and honest. This is absolutely wrong, they shouldn’t do this,” Zelensky replied.
According to the president, he asked the military and deputies to do so in the new bill on mobilization in Ukraine “so that there is no chance of walking the streets.”
Zelensky also believes that men of military age who illegally left Ukraine should return home.
Let us recall that the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets stated that employees of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers do not have the right to forcibly detain people, demand and take away their documents.
