On Friday, January 26, a lion and two lionesses from Ukraine arrived at the French zoo in Arne-sous-Vitto in Burgundy, Bild reports.
Atlas, Lulaja and Queen spent 90 hours on the road. They were privately owned, legal in Ukraine.
The lion was raised for 2.5 years in the Kyiv region, but he became too aggressive and has excessive weight – almost 300 kg. The two-year-old lionesses arrived from eastern Ukraine, having been abandoned by their previous owners when they fled the war.
The lioness Yuna, who received a concussion during rocket attacks on Kyiv on January 2, remains in the Kyiv region. A Russian missile fell 300 meters from her enclosure. After that, she stopped getting up on her paws, barely crawled, and practically didn’t eat. He is better now, she is undergoing rehabilitation. It is also planned to send the young girl abroad when someone agrees to accept her.
So far the animal has not had any health problems. She was being prepared to be sent to Europe – the documents were to be ready soon.
