Commanders from Azovstal went to a pre -trial detention center in Moscow – media

Several commanders of the Ukrainian Azov Regiment, arrested in Mariupol, were taken to the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center in Moscow, according to a Russian TASS report citing its sources on June 19.

We are talking about the deputy commander of the Azov regiment Svyatoslav Palamar and the commander of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergey Volynsky. Where the commander of the Azov regiment Denis Prokopenko, is still unknown.

On Saturday, the regiment’s press service reported that instead of Prokopenko, Major Nikita Nadtochy would temporarily lead Azov.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, 2,439 Azov fighters and other Ukrainian military who left the territory of the Azovstal plant are in Russian captivity. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously confirmed this figure.
