Although the convicted woman was not driving at the time of the road incident, the car belonged to her.
A court in Norway has found guilty and sentenced to 19 months in prison a 49-year-old woman who chased and crashed into a car carrying anti-Islamic movement member Lars Thoren, who had previously burned a Koran. AFP reported this on Friday, January 26.
It is implied that Toren, who leads an anti-Islamic group Let’s stop the Islamization of Norway, burned a copy of the Koran near a mosque in the suburbs of Oslo. This angered the Muslims who came to stop the action.
“After Toren got into the car and drove away, two women chased him,” the agency said.
Because of the chase, the pursuers’ car collided with the SUV where Toren was. The car overturned, but none of its passengers were injured.
It is indicated that the convicted woman was not driving at the time of the incident, but the car belonged to her, and she was sitting next to the driver.
“The court found him guilty of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm because he encouraged the chase,” AFP explained.
The case against another 24-year-old woman, who was driving the car, has not yet been considered.
In Sweden, for the first time, a citizen was convicted of using hate speech during the burning of the Koran, the holy book of Muslims.
Let’s remember that on June 28, with the permission of the police, in the center of Stockholm, Mamika tore pages from the Koran and burned them. He carried out similar actions at the Iraqi and Iranian embassies, as well as at the parliament building. The police have registered a case against him for inciting hatred.
On July 20, hundreds of protesters entered the Swedish embassy in Baghdad and set it on fire. The attack on the embassy was a reaction to the fact that the Swedish police allowed a Koran burning event to be held at the Iraqi embassy in Stockholm.
