The German Foreign Ministry has exposed Russia’s massive disinformation campaign on the social network Twitter (X), which aims to increase discontent with Germany’s current coalition government in society and undermine support for Ukraine. Spiegel reported it.
It was noted that the ministry ordered experts to analyze the messages on X using a special program, and as a result, a large network of fake accounts was discovered.
It was found that in one month, more than 50 thousand such accounts published a total of more than one million messages in German, which often included accusations against the federal government. They said the authorities allegedly abandoned their own population to help Ukraine.
