Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Defense Forces have killed at least 3 thousand Russian officers. Among them, at least 800 were of the rank of major and above. This was reported by the Russian BBC service.
According to Russian opposition media, the names of 102 dead colonels, 240 lieutenant colonels and 450 majors are already known. In total, at least 2,278 junior officers, from lieutenant to captain, died ingloriously in Ukraine.
The BBC article states that this loss of junior officers was the biggest blow to the combat effectiveness of the occupation forces. In the structure of the Russian Armed Forces, only officers are trained in coordinated interaction with other types of troops, in particular, with artillery units. Without these individuals, units begin to act differently, interfering with each other on the battlefield and coming under friendly fire.
In total, Russian media managed to confirm the names of 43 thousand 14 Russian soldiers who died in the war against Ukraine. However, the real losses of the Russian army are much greater.
It is reported that the enemy command is still relying more heavily on the mobilized.
Let us recall that in August, British intelligence reported that the aggressor country, Russia, had lost at least half of the airborne troops who were sent to fight against Ukraine in 2022. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, at least 15 thousand Russian paratroopers have been killed or wounded.
