The Russian invaders carried out further attacks in the Kharkov and Sumy regions. Oblenergo equipment was damaged, thousands of consumers were without electricity. Ukrenergo reported this on Friday, January 26.
“In the Kharkov region, due to damage to oblenergo equipment during the shelling yesterday evening and at night, one of the Ukrenergo facilities and several oblenergo facilities were de-energized. More than 16,500 consumers is without power supply. Emergency restoration work is ongoing,” the message said.
In this regard, the Ministry of Energy clarified that the 110 kV overhead lines were turned off in the Kharkov region. As a result, the lines and substations of Kharkovoblenergo and Ukrzaliznytsia were disconnected, and household consumers and local industry were de-energized.
As a result of the fighting, electrical equipment was damaged and caught fire in one of the areas, leaving home consumers in three communities without power.
And in the Sumy region, during two massive outages in the border areas, more than 40 thousand consumers lost electricity. There is also damage to oblenergo equipment. By morning, all consumers were powered using backup power supply circuits.
In total, due to fighting and other factors, 358 communities remain without electricity in the morning.
Due to bad weather, a settlement in the Chernigov region was cut off in the morning. For technical reasons, there is a shutdown in Kyiv, Poltava, and Sumy.
Meanwhile, electricity consumption in Ukraine continues to gradually decrease due to warming. The occurrence of a deficiency in the energy system is not predicted.
During the day, two units at the thermal power plant were out of service for emergency and routine maintenance.
Electricity is imported throughout the day, except at night, from Slovakia, Poland, Romania and Moldova. The total volume is 4772 MWh, with peak power in individual hours of up to 872 MW. No exports now.
