She did not say where she received this figurine from.
Before this, the suspect stated that she was set up and used. Trepova did not plan to stay in Russia for a long time—during her arrest, she was found to have tickets to Uzbekistan.
Trepova did not admit guilt to any of the charges. At the same time, she did not mind that she brought a figurine with explosives to the cafe where Tatarsky was performing, but, according to her, she did not know what was inside. In her last speech, Trepova apologized to the victims and everyone who was involved in the case because of her actions.
Another person involved in the case, Dmitry Kasintsev, in whose apartment Trepova hid after Tatarsky’s death, was sentenced by the court to 21 months in prison. He was accused of concealing a particularly serious crime “by misleading law enforcement agencies.”
Tatarsky was blown up on April 2, 2023 in a cafe in St. Petersburg. There he spent his “creative evening”. Trepova gave him a figurine with explosives, which detonated on the stage. Tatarsky died instantly.
In addition, on Thursday, the former leader of the fake DPR, Igor Girkin (Strelkov), was sentenced to four years in prison.
The verdict was handed down today by the capital’s city tribunal. A former militant leader will spend four years in prison because of extremism.
The court also banned Strelkov from administering websites on the Internet for three years.
Girkin is a war criminal, a former FSB officer and the so-called “Minister of Defense of the DPR.” He is also involved in the crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, which was shot down by Russian militants over the Donbass in July 2014. In Russia, he is accused of public calls for extremist activities.
