By 2023, operating Ukrainian port operators will process approximately 62 million tons of cargo.
Through the Black Sea corridor, organized by Ukraine, since August 2023, 18 million tons of cargo have been exported to 32 countries. Of these, 12.7 million tons, that is, two-thirds, are agricultural products. This was announced by the head of the Seaports Administration, Yuriy Litvin, CFTS reports.
According to the UK Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian ports exported more agricultural products in December 2023 than at any time since the Russian invasion. These results also significantly exceeded the monthly volume achieved during the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which was managed by the UN and Turkey, when ships were subjected to Russian inspections.
Also, the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine reported that by the end of 2023, operators of operating Ukrainian ports processed approximately 62 million tons of cargo. 56.3 million tons were shipped for export, and 5.3 million tons for import.

Operators of ports operating on the Danube handled 32 million tons of cargo in 2023. The cargo turnover of the port of Izmail more than doubled and reached 20.2 million tons (8.8 million tons in 2022); Reni port – 10 million tons (6.8 million tons in 2022); port of Ust-Dunaisk – 1.7 million tons (2022 – 785 thousand tons).
Throughout last year, 30 million tons of cargo were handled at the ports of Greater Odessa (including the “grain corridor” while it is still in operation). Of this 30 million tons, 12.8 million tons were exported through the temporary sea corridor, which became operational on August 16.
It was previously reported that the aggravation of the situation in the Red Sea region due to the actions of the Yemeni Houthis led to a slowdown in Ukrainian agricultural exports in January by 20%.
Let’s recall that by the end of 2023, Ukraine’s trade turnover will reach $99.4 billion. Our country imported goods worth about $63.5 billion, and exported goods worth $36 billion.
