Before the start of the PACE meeting, representatives of the Azerbaijani delegation made a statement that they were no longer interested in working with PACE.
The Azerbaijani delegation announced that it has stopped cooperating with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). This was reported by European Truth.
It was noted that before the start of the PACE meeting, where the assembly should consider the decision on the powers of Azerbaijani representatives, representatives of the Azerbaijani delegation made a statement that they were no longer interested in working with PACE under current condition.
According to the head of the Azerbaijani delegation, Samad Seyidov, the Azerbaijani delegation decided to stop communicating with the assembly and work with it until further communication.
Seyidov said he considered the initiative to appeal to the authority of the Azerbaijani delegation “part of a malicious campaign” against his country. He also accused Western countries of interfering in Azerbaijani elections.
Earlier, the media wrote that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe intends to limit the powers of the Azerbaijani delegation for the country’s violation of the principles of the organization.
We remind you that early presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan on February 7, 2024.
