Fake information is spreading online about an alleged campaign to exchange conventional light bulbs for LEDs, with an additional fee.
Ukrenergo warns about scammers who, on behalf of the company, spread information about the alleged replacement of conventional light bulbs for LEDs with an additional fee of 100 UAH for each. The company’s press service reported this on Tuesday, January 23.
“Be careful! Fraudsters are reusing our company’s name for their own purposes. We noticed that Ukrenergo does not replace any light bulbs, let alone give a reward for them,” the statement said.
“Do not click on such links, do not fill out any applications offered in such advertisements. Fraudsters may use the contact information you are asked to provide there for their own purposes,” said of the message.
The company also advised to send complaints about these messages and prevent their distribution.
We remind you that a campaign to exchange conventional incandescent bulbs for energy-saving LEDs existed, but at no additional cost, last year. Ukrenergo has nothing to do with it; President Vladimir Zelensky took this initiative. Ukrposhta, where the exchange was conducted, announced the closure of this program in April 2023.
