In recent weeks, more and more European leaders have spoken about the growing threat of Russian attacks on NATO countries.
NATO must be prepared for an attack by the Russian Federation. The Commander-in-Chief of the Norwegian Armed Forces, Eirik Christophersen, announced this on Monday, January 22, Daglabet reports.
“There is now a window, maybe one, two or three years, where we have to invest in strong defense. We have to give substance to NATO’s plans,” Christophersen said.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Norwegian Army noted that Russia has significantly increased its own military production by shifting the military-industrial complex to round-the-clock operation. In addition, the Kremlin is working with Iran and North Korea to expand its arsenal.
Christophersen noted that the Russian Federation is arming itself faster than NATO expected. He added that NATO members should pay special attention to strengthening air defense, as well as increasing the production of long-range missiles and spare parts for military equipment.
“We don’t know what will happen in Russia in three years. It is important that we face an uncertain and unpredictable world with strong defenses. So now we must use this time wisely,” said general of the Norwegian Armed Forces.
Let’s remember that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is creating the information conditions for the upcoming escalation against the Baltic countries. Putin said that Latvia and other Baltic countries are “throwing out ethnic Russians” from their countries and that this situation “directly affects the security of Russia.”
