Russian Telegram channels are disseminating information that supposedly rallies in Ukraine were allowed to be harshly dispersed. Allegedly, in conditions of social tension, the Ukrainian police were allowed to use traumatic weapons, rubber truncheons and tear gas to disperse any rallies. The Center for Countering Disinformation reported this on January 21 on Telegram.
The Russians publish as “proof” a photo of the order, which was allegedly signed by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that this piece of paper is fake, as is its content.
The Center emphasized that the document does not meet the requirements of official records management. All rules and grounds for the use of special equipment are clearly stated in the Law “On the National Police”, Art. 45 “Use of special means.”
Let us recall that in October, Russian propaganda publications and telegram channels actively “dispersed” the fake news that Hamas militants were allegedly fighting against the Israeli army with weapons from Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine denied this information.
